What it fixes

Teaching is not what takes the afternoon. Copying the same change into six places is.

It is keeping one course consistent in all the places it is written down, and noticing what needs attention before the week starts.

A date lives in many places

Move an exam and the new date has to reach the syllabus, the calendar and the assignment page. The workspace updates all of them together, so they always agree.

Which one is the real syllabus

The syllabus is in Dropbox, the slides are in Google Drive and the real newest version is on your laptop. Finding it takes longer than fixing it.

Every edit ends in an upload

Every small edit ends the same way: save, find the file, open Canvas, upload, check it took.

You just say what you want

Describe the change in plain language, as you would to a colleague: create next week's module, update the syllabus, move these assignments back one week.

It notices before you do

Nothing on your calendar reminds you that Thursday's module is still empty. The workspace checks ahead, writes you a short letter in the morning, and suggests the fix. You approve it or you dismiss it.

Next term starts as a copy

A new semester usually begins as a copy of the old one, with last year's dates still inside. The workspace rolls the course forward and shows you every date it moved, so nothing from last spring survives by accident.
